Speaking two languages and be bilingual has advantages and disadvantages in the actual society.
Know two languages is good to can communicate easier with more people than one person that only speaks one language and at the same time, your culture improves and knows more things about the life of the people. Furthermore, if you know more languages than others, you have more probabilities to get a job.
However, it is true that learn two languages can be confusing, and when you are a child can you mix up the two languages and not only in the speaking, also in the writing. In addition, in school, if you learn more languages, you have more subjects and more time to spend studying and doing homework.
To conclude, my opinion is that be bilingual is better than not be, because you can have more opportunities to have more friends from all over the world and be rich in culture and respect.
