Dialogue

Me: Jack, you know this behaviour is insupportable, you cannot go on that way, being mean to that boy. Has he done something to you?
Jack: I cannot stand him, makes me sick.
Me: You know that is not his problem, it is yours. People who behave like that are insecure.
Jack: What?
Me: That is a behaviour that people engage in when they feel threatened. They are mean to someone because they either feel jealous of that person for some reason, they are seeking attention from others by singling him/her out, or repeating a behaviour that they learned from another bully.
Jack: Are you blaming me?
Me: I am just telling you that you have some problems you should take care of. Because you’re making others suffer.
Jack: So it is all my fault.
Me: if I were you I would go to a psychologist, you do not see what you are going through, but this situation must stop. And in the future, when you realise, you will feel guilty and ashamed.

Dialogue Èric De Nájera

Megan and Phil are in the playtime when Megan realizes that Phil is bulling some classmates.

Megan: Phil can we talk for a moment?

Phil: Yes Megan, one second….
Phil: what do you want?

Megan: I have seen that you dedicate yourself to annoying those of the other class and I think you have to stop because although they do not complain, I really think that it annoys them. And I've seen the teachers talk to each other and I don't know if it can affect your notes

Phil: I don't care, but I don't want my grades to drop, so I will stop annoying but because who tells me that are you.

Dialogue - Ana Gozálvez

Mackenzie and Tyler, on their way back home, are talking about bullying in their school.
Tyler: Mackenzie, are you being mean to Iñigo Montoya?
Mackenzie: That's ridiculous! I don't even know why do you think I'm bullying him.
Tyler: I saw you today at school talking with him, you pushed him right after you told him he stinks and that he is a loser.
Mackenzie: Are you on drugs?
Tyler: You know I don't do drugs, not after knowing what happened to my dad.
Mackenzie: Well, you clearly must be imagining things.
Tyler: I remember what I saw, and it was real.
Mackenzie: Sure
Tyler: You must know the consequences these acts have on him. Worst case scenario, he kills himself.
Mackenzie: I doubt he kills himself.
Tyler:  Even if he doesn't, think of everything that could happen. You're ruining his life, his confidence and his self-esteem. He is going to spend all his life having trouble trusting people, he won't even trust himself, which will result in him being insecure.
Mackenzie: I... didn't think about that. But, you know, it's difficult to stop doing that.
Tyler:  I suggest you visit a psychologist. I'm no expert, but I can try giving you some advice.
Mackenzie: Sure, tell me.
Tyler: When you see him at school, take deep breaths. Relax, and try to be positive. If you have a problem with how he smells, tell him nicely and don't be rude. I'm sure Iñigo and you have some things in common. Also, try to apologize, to him.
Mackenzie: I will try, but will you be by my side when I go talk to him?
Tyler:  Sure, don't worry about it.
Mackenzie: Thanks!
Tyler: No problem. Anyways, that's my house. See you tomorrow at school!
Mackenzie: Bye!

Dialogue - Pablo Jerónimo

Pablo and a friend talk about our day at school on our way back home.

Pablo: I noticed you’ve been bothering Edward a lot lately. The guy seems scared of your presence, he doesn’t like to go to the yard because of you.

Friend: There’s an easy solution to that, don’t go to the yard. He’s always so pretentious, and now that a guy seems to be confronting him he starts crying.

Pablo: You can’t blame him for being so superb, he’s always been like that, it’s not that annoying. Didn’t you go to school together?

Friend: He’s always been a huge donkey, and yeah I went to school with him. I was friends with him actually.

Pablo: Then how about you tell him you’re sorry for bothering him? Or at least stop making his life impossible, that would be a huge relief for him.

Friend: I won’t apologise, at least yet… But I’ll stop bothering him, even though he definitely deserves it.

Pablo: That’s great news! But you’ll eventually have to apologise to him for being so mean.

Friend: I’ll try doing that.

Clary gets rumors from his friend John and decides to go talk to him to see if they're true:

CLARY: Hi, John, how are you?
JOHN: Good, and you?
CLARY: I'm fine, but I've got a rumor that's been going around.
JOHN: What rumor?
CLARY: They say you're a bully, is that true?
JOHN: Who made that up? It's a lie.
CLARY: John please don't see you. Be honest, we can help you. You can't keep hurting other people.
JOHN: I know, but I don't know how to do it.
CLARY: First you have to recognize it and understand that what you do is not right. Why don't you try to apologize to the people you've bullyng? Maybe even if they forgive you and see that you're sorry it'll be easier.
JOHN: I don't know, it's just that I'm embarrassed and this makes me very nervous.
CLARY: I understand Jonh, but they deserve forgiveness. It's not exactly what you did.

JOHN: Okey, I’ll apologize.

Lucas: Do you think adding a subject like Information and Communication Technology would be good for students?

Marta: Yes, I think it is the most necessary for the future, because the world is focused on Technology.

Lucas: Although I also think that they should spend more time learning languages.

Marta: It is also true, but I think it is more necessary for them to learn about the new technology because they also dedicate a lot of time to languages.

Lucas: Well, both are necessary.

Marta: I have to go, see you later.

Lucas: Bye Marta.

- Mr. Joseph: Jaimie, a few days ago in the informatives i saw a notice about how in other countries school’s there are subjects like Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). Do you think that is a good idea to implement here?

- Mr. Jamie: Sure, I think that is a good idea and a good tool to help the young students to enter in big world of informatic that surround us nowadays and a subject like that can help the students in and out of his academic lives.

- Mr. Joseph: I’m agree with you but this idea generate me a lot of questions like ¿Since what age this could start? ¿Have we the correct staff to teach these things? ¿Can we afford all the computers or the families will have to pay for it?

- Mr. Jamie: Uff… for sure it’s a difficult decision. Probably implementat gradually will be better for us and the students.

- Mr. Joseph: Good idea! I will show up the project the next monday in the staff meeting and then each one can share his opinion.

- Mr. Joseph: Seriously???

Pau and Adri are going back to their homes while Pau is blaming Adri for bullying Polco every time they’re in class.

-Pau: Adri, during these last days, there’s something that you’ve been doing that I really disapprove.

-Adri: Something bad that I’ve done, I can’t guess what it could be?

-Pau: Since the classes started you have been insulting and hitting Polco, the new student, ever time the teachers don’t look. Do you think that’s a normal behaviour?.

-Adri: How can you defend that peace of crap he just doesn’t deserve to live.

-Pau: As I suspect you’re just bulling someone because it’s new and doesn't have anyone to defend him, that just confirm that you’re the worst type person that can exist, a bully.

-Adri: I’m not bulling him I’m just showing him the treatments he deserves to have.

-Pau: I can’t really understand how we’ve been friends since primary school I really blame myself for talking to someone like you. Don’t you understand that treating a person in that way can lead to disastrous consequences?

-Pau: These attitudes will lead you to a path of loneliness and anger.

Two teachers, in a break between classes, are discussing the rights and wrongs of Information and Communication Technology as a school subject.

Teacher 1: Well, what I'm saying is that we didn't have enough time in our schedule for a useless subject.
Teacher 2: Mike, listen to me, nowadays the computers and all these things are everywhere.
Teacher 1: It's true but kids already know how to use computers.
Teacher 2: This subject it's not only to know how to see a video on youtube. It's a lot more complex.
Teacher 1: I understand you but, in my opinion, we should dedicate ourselves to teach them english, maths, and the basic things of a lifetime.
Teacher 2: I not agree, we need to evolve, teach them things that serve them in real life, for example, in Spanish, who will need the "subordinada sustantiva de relatiu", ANYONE.
Teacher 1: You're talking like students, if the government says that they must know these things is for a reason.
Doorbell: Riiiiiiiiiiing!
Teacher 1: Well it's time to return to classes. We'll talk.
Teacher 2: Yes, have a good day, bye.

Marcus and Mr. Smith are talking about the rights and mistakes of information and communication technology as a school subject.

- Mr. Smith: Marcus What do you thing about adding new subjects at school, like Information and Communication Technologies (ICT)?

- Marcus: I totally agree, currently education needs new subjects like the ones you mentioned. Students need different resources to enter the world of work and what do you think?

- Mr. Smith: I think the same as you, but first we need computers for all students, and that can be a problem. Many parents or the same school cannot afford a computer for every student.

- Marcus: I think we could gradually add this method and ask the state for help buying the computers.

- Mr. Smith: Good idea! We can present it at the next teacher meeting to see what they think.

- Marcus: Okay! I think everyone will agree

David Martínez - Dialogue Option 2

Meghan and Minerva, two teachers, are discussing the rights and wrongs of adding a new school subject about Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

Minerva: Guess what! Yesterday after watching a TV documentary about new ways of teaching, I came up with the idea that we should do something new in our school, too. Something to adapt our old-fashioned teaching methods to these modern times… Hey, what if we added ICT as a new school subject?

Meghan: Well… I’m not sure about that. I mean, I agree with you that our methods need an upgrade, and teaching ICT could be an interesting choice for our students, since ICT has become an important part in our lives.

Minerva: So? What’s the problem, then?

Meghan: The problem, Minerva, is that I don’t know how we would carry on this ‘project’. Most of us don’t even know how to properly use a computer… and you want us to teach this to our students?

Minerva: Calm down, Meghan. You know this is not a real problem. I don’t know either how to properly use a computer… However, we could take some kind of IT course. Teaching involves sacrificing for your students, isn’t it?

Meghan: Guess you’re right… Let’s do it!

One afternoon in the neighborhood square where Albert and Arnau would meet, they are talking about the school and their classmates.

Albert: How about David? Do you know something about him?

Arnau: No. Because of me he had to leave school. I don't know why she was so crying. We were just playing, but he wanted to distance himself from me.

Albert: You should reconsider and ask how you act in front of some colleagues. When David left school, you went to Alex, and he doesn't want to be with you.

Arnau: He does want to be with me. I haven't done anything to him!

Albert: You disturb him and laugh at him.

Arnau: This is not true. We just played and had a good time.

Albert: You have to find someone who listens, and talk about your self-esteem problems. I know that you haven’t had very good moments throughout your life, but that doesn’t have to suffer other people.

Dialogue Option 2 - Irene Plana

Mike and Savannah are two teachers that have just finished classes and they are discussing the rights and wrongs of Information and Communication Technology (ICT, learning how to use new technologies) as a school subject.

Mike: I've been thinking that our school needs to update the subjects like putting ICT, don't you think?

Savannah: I totally agree with you. Nowadays, technology has taken part a lot in our lives, such as we use it for our daily bases. So, it will be great to teach our students how to use technology.

Mike: I believe that this will be difficult, because to teach that, we need a lot of computers and get all of them will be difficult for our school as we don't have financial resources.

Savannah: Yeah, that's true, but if the school wants, they will do their best to get the maximum of computers. I only see one problem. If the students get their computers, maybe they will get distracted easier. What's your opinion about it?

Mike: I see your point, but I think that we should trust them, furthermore, the school material is very old and needs to be renewed.

Savannah: You're right!

Option 1:

Marina: Hi Roger, I hear that you have got a fight with one boy, Are you okay?

Roger: Yes, I am. Nevertheless, there is nothing to worry about.

Marina: I do not think so, I know that is difficult, but you do not have to pay it with him. It is not his fault. When we are angry or furious, we want to blame another person before accepting the truth and solve it as well as we can.

Roger:  I know it. However, I do not know how to stop it and do not harm others.

Marina: I think that when this happens to you, go outside and calm your anger, and then when you are prepared, enter with a good attitude.

Roger: Okay, I will try it. Thanks for the advice.

1: I think that the students should be work with computers all subjects, since the students they are small. It help them because is mor easy find informatio for one topic.

2: I do not think so, I think it will distract them and they didn't focus on the classes. And is more easy to play.

1: Yes, but not all students.

1: It will help them in the future to work, continue studying.

2: I think they spend a lot of time with technology like mobile, video games.

1: Yes for that reason the student are more focus beacuse they frifer work with computers than books.

2: Also the students have to know how to find information in books.

1: We should ask to the students what they think.

2: Yes, is a good idea.

Mr.Gregory and Mr.Lennon are taking a few drinks on a friday night. They are discussing the rights and wrongs of Information and Communication Technology as a school subject.

-Mr.Gregory: I think we have to start adding new subjects at school, like Information and Communication Technology (ICT), so that students come out more prepared in today's world, since this has changed a lot with new technologies, and students need to learn from these.

-Mr.Lennon: I totally agree, our educational system is getting outdated and needs a remodel to adapt it to today's society, where new technologies are essential for human beings.

-Mr.Gregory: But first we need computers for all the students, and that can be a problem.

-Mr.Lennon: We can contact a company so that they can lend us computers for the students, and that part of these will be paid by the family.

-Mr.Gregory: Good idea!, I'll contact the director to see how we do it.

-Mr.Lennon: Okay! Apart from this, thanks to computers we can work faster and have better contact with students if they send us homework.

-Mr.Gregory: Then decided, we will add Information and Communication Technology as a school subject.

Jackson; No, but it's a nerd who spends the day studying...

James: So...It's that a problem?

Jackson: Of course, it's pathetic, why is he not like us?

James: Shut up! It is not an excuse, the pathetic one is you who do nothing useful and you won't have any honourable future.

Jackson: What? Are you defending it? Really?

James: Yes! Stop being a retarded and do not bully a person because is better than you..

Jackson: But James...

-John: I don't know, he's just a nerd with glasses and fat, nothing more, why?
-Max: Don't you think you're being too stupid with him?
-John: No... It's just funny and innocent jokes...
-Max: Do you think telling someone, fat or four eyes, is a funny and innocent joke? Would you like to be told, for example, stick bug ?, or flat nose?
-John: It's true ... it may be that he's being rude to Sam ...
-Max: Rude no, you're bullying him, and that's a very serious matter John, you have to stop or you can have social and legal consequences. Just ignore him and leave him alone.

ICT at school - Jordi Codina

Bellamy and Wells are eating at the dining room while they are arguing about the implementation of ICT (Information and Communication Technology) at their classes to improve them.
  • Bellamy: I’ve been thinking those days about appending new technologies on our students, because nowadays all the work is done with computers. What do u think about?
  • Wells: It’s true, our school methods are the same that 40 years ago, but I guess if we let them work with computers they’ll be not working seriously and the average of students will be lower that working with paper.
  • Bellamy: Then, the solution is that they cannot work with computers. I guess there's another way.
  • Wells: Sure, but what is it, if we’d know it, we’d carry it out because it’d help us to don’t waste paper and make the classes faster.
  • Bellamy: So, we agree?
  • Wells: I think, but first we have to find out that way.

Paul and Mike are eating their lunch in a bench near their school. Paul suspects a classmate feels threatened by Mike's actions, although Paul doesen't think he does it on purpose, of course. They've known each other since forever, and he knows Mike is not a bat kid.

Paul:   So.... you know Mark, the guy sitting in front of you in class?
Mike: Dude, our class has been the same for four years. It would be a real problem if i couldn't                       memorize some 20 names.
Paul:   Right... I think you have been a bit rude to him lately... I know you don't do it on purpose, but             it REALLY looks like you're bullying him from the outside, you know?
Mike:  Bullying?! That's a bit too far, I just made a few puns.
Paul:   Yes, a few puns about his weight, and that's just today. Really, you should stop, just ignore                    him, the classroom feels very tense lately because of you two.
If you want, I can ask the teacher to move your seatso you are not next to him. What's more,               i'll try to get us to sit together.
Mike: I think I should go and apologize to him as well, in retrospective, I may have overdone it with            my 'funny jokes'

ICT Dialogue - Adrià Gonzàlez

Two teachers are located in the bathroom (the place that their imagination gets inspired the most) because they have to discuss if they have to implant the ICT as a school subject.

  • Mr. Macabro: I've thoguht to add Information and Communication Technology as a new subject at 1st of ESO, to show to the new generations that this is the future and can help them.
  • Ms. Calíope: Well Macabro, it's a nice initiative but I don't think that ICT could help them. In my opinion, studying subjects like religion is more important than that, because you can go in with yourself more properly and that can help you much more than ICT.
  • Mr. Macabro: I agree with that but I'm still thinking that the technology is the future and you can't make a living just by finding yourself.
  • Ms. Calíope: Okay, we will discuss it tomorrow in the teachers room to see if the idea convinces them.
  • Mr. Macabro: Okay, see you.
