Should the government make these substances illegal?
More people are addicted to tabacco and alcohol creating a dependence like drugs. If we compare tabacco and alcohol with drugs would have to also be illegal?
On one hand, in our society we see tobacco and alcohol as a normal thing. That is why we see the illegalization of tobacco and alcohol as exaggerated, but let us remember that it kills many people.
Futhermore, substances as the tobacco and the alcohol are annoying for other persons like for example small children. Young children are often the most affected by these substances by the smoke of the tabacco especially.
Also the alcohol changes the behavior of the persons turning them violents and aggressive. On the other hand, alcohol causes many traffic accidents augmentando so the dead persons.
In conclusion, in my opinion the illegalization of tabacco and alcohol prevent from the victims. But it won't stop people consuming as like drugs.
